Good Friday and Easter Sunday are big events in Damascus, Syria. The areas of Bab Touma and Bab Sharqi in the old city host the most famous events, where many locals descend upon to take part in processions and to go to church.
It’s not just in Damascus, though. Large Christian communities exist all across the country, which is home to different religions, sects and ethnicities.
